Aasted- Skive’s hidden gems

Gable murals, trails and history in the landscape
– where nature and creativity meet

Aasted – art, water and stories in the Fursund area

Aasted is part of the Fursund area in northern Salling, where art and nature go hand in hand. Surrounded by water on all sides, the Limfjord invites you to swim, enjoy water sports and fish, while the landscape around the village offers calm and space for reflection.

Water shapes the experiences here. Hinnerup Stream winds through the area, inviting canoe and kayak trips, and the lakes Grynderup, Elkær and Brokholm are known for their rich birdlife and tranquil atmosphere.

Aasted stands out especially for its art in public spaces. The colourful gable murals in Aasted tell stories about the place and give the village a vibrant and creative character. Art is a natural part of everyday life and can be experienced as you move through the village.

History is also close at hand. Near Aasted lies the medieval stronghold Østergaard, where earthworks and terrain still reflect the power and life of the past. Follow the hiking route between Østergaard and Skansehøj Rampart, where the trail leads you through landscape, history and open countryside – step by step.
