The art staircase and the artistic stretch of the Track path, Skive

The art staircase and the artistic stretch of the Banestien near Dyrskuepladsen help to connect the city and the harbour.

An Artistic Route Between the Museum and the Harbour

Starting from an art staircase in front of Skive Museum, which connects to the Banestien path from the museum park to Skive Harbour, new art will be established to give this section of the path a new dimension. A strong landscape and artistic effort along this stretch will unite the city and the harbour, make Banestien more exciting and full of experiences, and help mark the transition from the harbour to the Sports and Culture Park. The art should create identity and clearly manifest itself as an artistic contribution to the location. By placing art on the final part of Banestien leading down to the harbour, the two parts of the city are brought together and the history of the place is supported.

The project is designed by artist Oskar Koliander and is part of the BigBlue initiative.

What is BigBlue?
BigBlue Skive is a development plan for the city of Skive, focusing on connecting the city across the river and utilizing its many potentials. Since 2017, many of the plan’s sub-projects have been realized, and in the BigBlue project team in the Planning Department of Skive Municipality, we’ve seen increasing demand for guided tours in the BigBlue areas. Therefore, in the summer of 2022, we chose to appoint a couple of permanent BigBlue guides, whom you can book for a tour.
