Visit Anna Bjerre’s ceramics studio and discover a world of form, color, and story – crafted by hand, heart, and heritage.
It’s been 60 years since Anna Bjerre began as an apprentice at the Ceramics Farm in Ramten Forest. On a school trip to Bornholm, she saw a potter at the wheel and was instantly captivated. If the teacher hadn’t ushered them along, she might still be standing there.
After just two weeks at the Ceramics Farm, she knew she would never let go of clay.
There are always new things to try. Anna Bjerre still finds the work exciting. Her approach to clay is varied, but especially slip decoration and the embellishment of mugs, teapots, bowls, platters, small dishes, large jars, and raku techniques define her craftsmanship.
