Join the time travel as Hjerl Hede tells the story of what it was like to live in the countryside over 300 years. Life before industrialization allows for reflections. A bygone era where everyone lived by their craft. The living history of summer and Christmas is presented by nearly 80 volunteers who master the traditional crafts.
Small and Large Groups
Bring the whole family, friends, or colleagues to Hjerl Hede, where you can learn, play, and experience history through the senses. Hjerl Hede is the perfect setting for excursions and activities. We therefore welcome you for fun and educational hours – even outside our normal opening hours if the visit is booked in advance.
In special cases and for an additional fee, it is possible to be guided by horse-drawn carriage. We offer free loans of wheelchairs and walkers. Please contact us in advance if you want to reserve.
Package Deals and Guided Tours
We offer guided tours in the various cultural environments and houses, where you can hear about life in the countryside in olden times. Package deals include a guided tour of about an hour and a half, entrance to the museum, and catering. For the tour, the group is divided into groups of 25 people.
The food is served at Restaurant Skyttegaarden, located on the museum grounds. The idyllic, thatched restaurant can accommodate around 110 dining guests, and here you have the opportunity to enjoy the dish of the day, cold drinks, coffee, tea with various cakes, and much more.
