Eskjær – One of Denmark’s Oldest Manors
From medieval estate to modern farming – Eskjær blends heritage with contemporary life.
Eskjær – A Historic Manor with Modern Farming
Eskjær is one of Denmark’s oldest manors, first mentioned in historical records in 1328. In the late 19th century, the central wing of the main building was restored and fitted with a tower wall, all farm buildings were rebuilt, and the forest was replanted with beech and ash trees.
Today, the estate is owned by Vibeke and Birger Schütte and operates as a modern farm with pig production and crop cultivation – a vibrant blend of heritage and contemporary agriculture.
