Lundø- Skive’s hidden gems

Peninsula, birdlife and open horizons
– where Nordfjends meets Lovns Bredning

Lundø – nature’s tranquillity on the edge of the fjord

Lundø lies in the eastern corner of Skive Municipality as a narrow peninsula stretching out towards Lovns Bredning. Here, the landscape extends calmly towards Jelse Odde – also known as Lundø Tap – with low-lying fields, meadows and dykes that tell the story of life shaped by the water. The scenery is open, simple and atmospheric, and the sky feels especially vast.

In Lundø and the rest of Nordfjends, nature is always close at hand. You can hike or cycle along the many trails, stay overnight in shelters and enjoy child-friendly beaches. The fjord invites you to go kayaking, take a quiet swim or pause by the water’s edge, where the pace slows down naturally.

Birdlife is a special highlight in Lundø. The area’s meadows, lakes and coastline are home to a rich and varied wildlife. Visit the local bird aviary or take a walk around Jordbro Engsø and Ørslev Monastery Lake, where the silence is broken only by wings and water.

If you wish to explore the landscape on foot, follow the hiking routes at Termø and all the way out to Jelse Odde, where the fjord surrounds you on almost every side. Along the way, stop by Lundø Tower, offering a small insight into the area’s nature and history.
