When the first oysters from the Limfjord are brought ashore, people gather in Nykøbing Mors to celebrate great food, craftsmanship and the lively atmosphere of the harbour.

The season begins with delicious dishes, exciting competitions and a vibrant atmosphere that continues from late morning until well into the evening.

The first oysters and mussels of the season – prepared by experienced chefs

The Oyster and Mussel Premiere marks the beginning of the season in the Limfjord. Experienced chefs from Danish restaurants present a selection of dishes featuring oysters, mussels and other shellfish, with flavour and preparation taking centre stage.

Tastings, oyster bar and new flavours throughout the day

Throughout the day, visitors can enjoy a variety of tastings and visit the oyster bar, where the fresh ingredients are served in different ways. It is a chance to rediscover familiar flavours while also exploring new and exciting combinations.

Oyster shucking and champagne sabrage competitions on stage

The programme includes the Danish Championships in oyster shucking and champagne sabrage. Both junior and senior competitors take part, with the finals bringing spectators together around the stage.

Friday evening with gourmet shellfish and a relaxed dinner in the arena

Friday evening features a full evening dedicated to gourmet shellfish. Guests can enjoy a four-course menu accompanied by carefully selected wines, followed by coffee and something sweet – all served at a relaxed pace.

Saturday – from the oyster landing to Seafood Night: Festivities & Finals

Saturday begins with the landing of oysters at the harbour, followed by opening speeches, tastings and competitions throughout the day. In the evening, guests gather in the arena for dinner at long communal tables, the competition finals and award ceremonies.
