A church with deep roots and gentle renewal

Erslev church consists of a Romanesque nave and chancel with a lead roof, as well as a late Gothic porch. The church underwent a thorough restoration in the 1990s, during which its historic character was preserved while the space was given new life.

History comes forward in details and symbols

The altar is made of granite and contains a saint's tomb in the central ashlar – a particularly rare element from the church's earliest period.

On the north wall of the nave hangs a large late Gothic crucifix from around the year 1500, whose size and expression create a powerful visual focal point in the space.

The pulpit was installed in 1614, adding yet another historical layer to the church. On the south side of the chancel you can also see the remains of an original leper window – a small but significant trace from another age.
