The Coastal Route around Mors is one of the Limfjord's most varied walking experiences. Across 150 km you move through landscapes that shift between the raw and the gentle – from open coastal stretches to quiet meadows and wooded areas.

Walking the route at your own pace brings a closeness to nature that cannot be experienced in any other way. Here there is time to feel the wind, hear the fjord and let the island's history unfold along the way.

10 stages through nature, history and landscape

The Coastal Route is divided into 10 roughly equal stages, starting and ending in Nykøbing Mors. Along the way you follow small paved roads, field paths, old hollow ways, stretches of beach and open landscapes.

The route is varied and alive, with the terrain changing continually so that the walk feels natural and varied.

Along the route you'll also find smaller loops and circular walks that can be completed in 1–3 hours, offering opportunities for shorter experiences.

Experiences and detours along the way

The Coastal Route offers a wide range of experiences that make the trip far more than just a walk.

Along the way you can take detours to viewpoints, historical sites, burial mounds, churches and special natural areas.

At Salgjerhøj – the highest point on the island – you are rewarded with a sweeping view over the Limfjord and the surrounding landscape. At the Mary Magdalene spring near Dragstrup Kirke you'll encounter a story reaching back to the 13th century.

At Legind Sø you may be lucky enough to spot rare plants such as hepatica, marsh lousewort and the protected orchid early purple orchid.
