Durup- Skive’s hidden gems

Where trails, water and community create the setting – for active days and peaceful moments

Durup – the corner of the Limfjord shaped by movement and community

Durup is a place where community is truly felt. More than 100 volunteers create life all year round with events such as park concerts, parkrun, Midsummer celebrations, town festivals, communal dining, boxing tournaments and the atmospheric Salling Beer Festival. In Durup, nature is part of everyday life. The town is beautifully located in the heart of Salling, close to the coast at Harre Vig and the peaceful landscape around Grynderup Lake.

Through the town runs a network of approximately 10 kilometres of trails winding through forest, lakes and open areas, connecting Durup Park with the newly planted community forest – perfect settings for walking, running and cycling.

The former Salling Railway now forms a scenic, car-free route for cyclists and walkers, with easy access towards both Skive and Glyngøre. Here you move through open plains, forest edges and landscapes where the pace naturally slows down.

The experiences continue in Durup Community Forest, at the town’s swimming pool, and by the historic medieval castle Østergaard, where past and landscape merge into a special atmosphere.
