With a motorhome, everything you need is right there with you – your bedroom, your kitchen, and your cozy corner. But when you park at a campsite, you get even more: access to electricity, water, and clean, modern facilities. It’s simple, comfortable – and just steps from the Limfjord.
If you're travelling in a motorhome, this is your overview of the most important rules regarding parking and camping. Always pay attention to local signage and special regulations at the location.
As a rule of thumb, motorhomes are subject to the same traffic rules as other vehicles – unless otherwise stated by signage or local regulations.
Campsites
At campsites, you are allowed to stay overnight and set up your gear – such as tables and benches – just like other guests. You are free to use the available facilities within the limits set by the campsite.
Marinas
If a marina also serves as a campsite – which will be clearly indicated by signage or other markings – you may park, stay overnight, and set up tables and chairs.
In areas near marinas without specific camping permission, you may drive and park your motorhome as long as no signs prohibit it. See the section below on urban areas for more detailed rules.
Urban Areas and Parking Lots
In towns and other densely populated areas, motorhomes may drive and park like any other vehicle, as long as general traffic rules are observed. It is also permitted to rest in the sleeping area of your camper.
It is important to note that setting up equipment such as tables, benches, grills, or similar items on public parking areas is not allowed unless you have specific permission from the road authority.
Green Areas – Such as Forests and Natural Landscapes
As a general rule, driving or parking in natural areas like forests or parks is not permitted unless specific authorisation has been granted for motor vehicle use.
Remember that in nature areas and similar locations, setting up camping gear – such as tables, grills, awnings, or open roof hatches – is not allowed without a clear permit, either by signage or directly from the landowner.
