Junget- Skive's hidden gems

Surrounded by fjord, lakes and stories
– where nature and creativity meet

Junget – water, art and tranquillity in the Fursund area

Junget is part of the Fursund area, where the villages of Selde, Åsted, Junget and Thorum are beautifully situated in northern Salling. Here, art and nature go hand in hand, and experiences unfold in a landscape surrounded by water on all sides. The Limfjord provides the setting for swimming, water sports and fishing, while calmness and closeness shape everyday life.

Water is a constant companion in the area. Hinnerup Stream invites you on canoe and kayak trips through the quiet countryside, and the lakes Grynderup, Elkær and Brokholm are known for their rich – and at times rare – birdlife. Nature here is a true haven for both curious visitors and dedicated nature lovers.

Junget and the rest of the Fursund area are characterised by a vibrant community life, where small local groups create great experiences. The area offers art, culture and creative initiatives – from outdoor art and sculpture projects to festivals, music, revues and local storytelling. As you move through the villages, you can sense how art has left its mark on both place and atmosphere.

History is never far away. Explore the ancient burial mounds at Urhøje, experience the silence at Grættrup Deserted Church, or visit Thorum Old Merchant’s House, where traces of everyday life from the past can still be felt.
