Nordfjends is a scenic peninsula stretching towards Lovns Bredning and consists of the villages Hald, Lund, Bøstrup, Hejlskov, Virksund, Ørum and Lundø. Here, the villages are scattered across an open and varied landscape where fjord, beach, forest and fields lie side by side, and where nature is always close at hand.
Nordfjends offers experiences all year round. Stay overnight in shelters, set out on hiking or cycling trips along the many trail systems, or enjoy the fjord from a kayak and child-friendly beaches. If you are interested in birdlife, a walk around Jordbro Engsø or Ørslev Monastery Lake is an excellent choice, where silence and the rhythm of nature set the pace.
In the heart of the landscape lies Ørslev Monastery – a beautiful and atmospheric monastery with its own garden and old woodland. The monastery functions as a working retreat but often opens its doors for cultural events, welcoming guests into its historic surroundings.
Nordfjends is also a welcoming area with local experiences and small surprises. In the villages you will find cosy shops and local initiatives, and in summer Virksund comes alive with its market set against the backdrop of the fjord. Here, people, atmosphere and landscape meet at eye level.
