Rønbjerg- Skive’s hidden gems

Lake, heath and villages in harmony
– nature and history side by side

Rønbjerg – Ice Age landscapes and living cultural traces

Rønbjerg is beautifully situated just north of Lake Flyndersø, where the landscape unfolds into a scenic and varied Ice Age terrain. Here, you are never more than a short bike ride from lakes, heathland and forest. Flyndersø – a large Ice Age lake – lies between heath and plantation and can be reached within minutes on foot from Rønbjerg and Estvad.

The area holds strong cultural-historical stories. Estvad has been designated as a particularly well-preserved village, known for its classic layout and its remarkably beautiful setting in the landscape. Close to the lake stands Flyndersø Mill, a reminder of how natural forces were once harnessed in everyday life.

Nature around Rønbjerg is diverse and invites you to move at your own pace. Beyond the heath, you will find lakes, river valleys, plantations and the extensive Hvidemose, creating varied terrain for hiking and quiet experiences. Rønbjerg Plantation offers shelter and forest atmosphere, while the open expanses provide wide views and tranquillity.

Follow the Red Ring – a popular walking route – or explore the other hiking trails in the area, where the rhythm of nature sets the pace. Rønbjerg is a place to explore the landscape and let both nature and history leave their mark.
