Thorum- Skive’s hidden gems

Outdoor art, ancient burial mounds and tranquillity in the landscape
– a vibrant corner of the Fursund area

Thorum – water, art and traces of time

Thorum is part of the Fursund area in northern Salling, where nature and creativity go hand in hand. Here, you are surrounded by water on all sides, and the Limfjord provides the setting for experiences such as swimming, fishing and water sports – all year round.

Water connects the landscape. Hinnerup Stream invites you to enjoy peaceful canoe and kayak trips, while the lakes Grynderup, Elkær and Brokholm form a rich natural haven with fascinating – and at times rare – bird species. Here, silence is part of the experience.

Thorum also holds strong historical and artistic stories. In the landscape lie the Urhøje burial mounds – striking ancient monuments that bear witness to human life through the millennia. The atmospheric Grættrup Deserted Church stands as a quiet reminder of a vanished village, while outdoor artworks and sculpture projects add a contemporary and creative expression to the area.

The sense of community in the Fursund area is also felt in Thorum. Small associations and local initiatives bring life through art, culture and events – contributing to a region where experiences grow from the interaction between people and landscape.
