Odby Cliff – A Dramatic Coastal Landscape
Northwest of Oddesund, Odby Cliff rises with steep slopes shaped by erosion. Discover layers of Danish chalk and flint forming natural groynes into the fjord.
The cliff at Odby - Thyholm
Walking along the beach from Oddesund in a northwerterly direction along the reclaimed lake Odby Sø, a distinctive cliff is reached stretching from here to the north.
The powerful constant erosion from Nissum Bredning is seen in the formation of steep naked cliffs. In several places the cliff is made of the so-called Danish limestone, which contains a number of veins high in flint content. These layers of flint run at right angles to the foot of the cliff and form natural "groynes" some distance into the fjord bed.
