There are plenty of fantastic nature areas at the Limfjord, all of which can be experienced on foot on the many nature trails and hiking trails. Here we have gathered some of the most beautiful and best hiking experiences on the Limfjord.
‘Around Venø’ is a 20 km hiking route in a beautiful landscape on the island Venø, in the middle of the Limfjord. Take your time to study this unique nature and the everyday life of the people living on this small island, with is one of the 27 islands in Denmark.
During this trip you will find a beautiful view towards Salling and Himmerland. At low tide, you can go one kilometer out at the Limfjord with an opportunity to watch seals.
In the middle of Limfjord you will find the Jegindø island, which locals pronounce as “Jeenø”. The island has rich birdlife as well as fish life. And if you are lucky enough, you will even have an opportunity to experience seals.
The Sculpture-Route (5 km): Experience a hike through the city of Struer where you will find many exciting and beautiful sculptures. In the tourist office in Struer, you can become a special brochure of the route with a bit of information about each sculpture. The route begins by Struer Museum.
Grab your lunch and your binoculars. Whether you enjoy nature in hiking boots, running shoes or cross-country skiing, you can look forward to unique experiences in the open sky at Flyndersø Nature Park.
